There’s been a lot of people make the same reference but January really does feel like it’s lasted 783 days. Like, it’s kind of nice that time isn’t whizzing by but I’m eager to get to February and get a new month underway. The last month has been up and down for a few reasons.
Well, I’ve been confident enough to pitch to a few brands this month. I know I haven’t got the biggest following – hello to you guys that are regulars over here. SO much love for you! – but I thought I’d just put myself out there. Amazingly, there were some positive responses and I can’t wait to tell you more about my upcoming adventure in March where I’ll be heading the Lake District. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to work with some more amazing brands throughout the year as I progress my blog further.
Guess what? I finished reading a book this month. The Hate U Give is the first book in a long time that I’ve finished. In 2017, I read maybe 2/3 books from beginning to end. I’m determined to change that in 2018. Does anyone have any recommendations of what my next books should be?
Things have been a lot more positive at work over the last few weeks. I’ve felt more focussed and like I’m actually DOING something. Does that make sense? I haven’t got that true Sunday night dread I’ve had for a while and I’m super excited for some big projects I’ve got coming up over the next few months.
I’ve also got a trip to Berlin booked in for February. I luckily won a competition with Jet2 back in December and I can’t wait for my first visit to Germany. Chris and I are already booked in for a visit to the Reichstag so get ready for some amazing views of the city!
I went and treated myself to a new camera! Now, I’ve had a camera for a while but I really haven’t been able to get on with it. No matter what settings I use, the pictures don’t come out how I want. So, I went and bought a Sony A5100. I’ve read so many good reviews about this camera and I can’t wait to take it out for a proper test run and improve my photography.
Saying goodbye to my Grandad was a tough start to the year. I also thought I was doing okay but there have been a few tears shed this month. When death is unexpected, I think it can be more hard to deal with. I’m just trying to ride the rollercoaster of grief as best I can.
I haven’t built on my blog as much as I want. I mean, I took Jasmin’s coaching course before Christmas but I felt I haven’t delved into the depths of it yet or given it as much focus as I want. I have been blogging more consistently though. And hopefully that’s a good thing?! It’s time to really work on my brand, my photography, being more consistent on social media and basically just upping my game.
I haven’t really visited any where new this month. So much for my 12 trips challenge. But, it doesn’t mean I have to visit one place a month. I’ve got Berlin, The Lake District and London coming up in the next two months and I’m hoping to fit in a good walk around Malham and Gordale Scar in soon. January was a time for saving money and being a hermit!
So, what does February hold? Well, I’ll be out and about with my camera. I want to spend a day in York, because York is just lovely. I’ll be in Berlin for 3 nights. Hopefully I’ll be getting stuck into another new book – I’ll let you know what it is as soon as I do, and I’m going to try and focus making this blog into something I’m really proud of.
What have you guys done this month? Let me know what you’re up to in February too!
