Can you believe I’ve done nearly 50 of these Life Lately posts?
I definitely can’t. That’s nearly a year of experiences, happy times, life events, memories that I’ve recorded down and it’ll be weird looking back on them in the future. If I ever do. Maybe I’ll get that same cringe feeling reading back on these posts in 20 years as I did when I read the diary I wrote as a 13 year old. Hopefully they won’t be full of as much teenage angst though!
After a little break last week, I’m back again with another few things that have been making me happy this week.
Friday night was date night and I had a little surprise dinner organised for my boyfriend. I’m super rubbish at organising surprises but I knew he’d love dinner at Ox Club, so that’s where we went and it was delicious. Chris enjoyed scallops for starter and steak with the most insanely good chips for main, while I munched down on sea trout and cauliflower for my main and indulged in a naughty peanut butter icecream with raspberry jam on brioche for dessert. Oh man was it good and after enjoying brunch at this Leeds institution several times, it was nice to finally try their dinner menu too.
After dinner we went to Sela Bar and then on to Rolands for what I think is Leeds’ best Espresso Martini. Man it’s so good. It was also so lovely to spend some time with Chris too, I mean we often see each other in the week but it’s nice to go out on a proper date once in a while too J
So, today is one of my best friend’s birthdays so to celebrate, we went out day drinking in Holmfirth followed by a good beer pong session in Huddersfield after. And what a nice day it was. The sun was out, Holmfirth was fairly lively and I was in the winning beer pong team, twice. YES.
Like many other people, I was up in the early hours on Sunday morning to tune into the much hyped fight between Mayweather and McGregor. While I enjoyed the fight, what I enjoyed even more was the sunrise I got to see before crawling back into bed. Look how pretty it is.
In a few weeks, I’m going to be writing a pretty cool blog post about Desenio and the great prints you can get from there. I made my order earlier this week and instead of being a basket full of colour coordinated, simple and sleek prints, it’s a colourful mish mash of tropical colours, bright images and cool quotes which quite frankly I have no idea where I’m going to put them. I can’t wait to show you guys and I might even have a cheeky little discount code for you all when the post goes live.
I don’t know what’s up with me lately but I can’t help but fall asleep when I’m watching stuff on TV. I’ve fallen asleep during Alan Partridge, The Breakfast Club and Cool Runnings during the last week. Maybe it’s a sign I need to catch up on snoozing but who knows?
I’m a huge fan of anything that Levison Wood does, apart from maybe his Walking The Americas show last year, so when I found out he had a new expedition show called From Russia To Iran: Crossing Wild Frontiers was coming to Channel 4, of course I was going to tune in and I am HOOKED. I’ve got to catch up on yesterday’s episode but it’s incredible seeing places like Dagestan, somewhere you would never be able to see if it weren’t for people and shows like this. If you haven’t tuned in, give it a go because it’s such good TV.
What have you all been up to this week? Also, have a great bank holiday Monday! I hope you’re going to be enjoying the sunshine like me today!
