Hi guys! It feels like a while since I’ve given you a little life update on here even though it’s only been a couple of weeks. After bringing these posts back with a bang a few months back, I’m starting to think twice about them again. I love writing them as a little update on my life and to tell you all what I’ve been up to but then sometimes when I don’t write an actual blog post through the week, I feel, well, I don’t know. Like guilty? I don’t want my blog to be just Life Lately posts when I don’t get time to write an actual blog post. Not that the Life Lately posts aren’t proper posts but I don’t feel like they’re very substantial posts. Like they’re not really meaty content which is really what I’d love to include more of on this blog.
SORRY FOR THE RAMBLE.
What do you guys think? Do you like these posts or would you rather this kind of content be included in a weekly/fortnightly/monthly type newsletter?
LET ME KNOW 🙂
This week has felt super busy but on Tuesday I went out to get tinfoil and ended up going around to Beverley’s to catch up over tea and cookies. I wasn’t intending to go round but it did me the world of good to have a chat and a giggle.
Even with my best intentions, I couldn’t stay awake through Blade Runner when Chris and I watched it this week. I swear, if I start watching something post 8pm that lasts longer than 2 hours, I have no hope. I managed to catch bits of it and I THINK I know what happens but I’m sure I’ll find out when I go to see Blade Runner 2049 later this week. I’m sure I’ll be pretty confused!
One of my favourite events in the Leeds calendar happened this week. Leeds Light Night is a city-wide event where different light exhibitions are placed in prominent spots around the city. On Briggate there were giant table lamps, Millennium Square was the home to a huge light show projected onto the Civic Hall and Leeds Dock had a giant moon hovering over the water which was pretty cool. Although I was a little underwhelmed by some of the exhibitions, the city had such a great atmosphere and it was lovely to wander around without having to think about the drunk people that are usually hovering around on a Friday evening!
I’ve not watched Stranger Things before. So, in time for the second season coming out at the end of October, I had to watch the first season. I’ve successfully watched the whole series in the space of a weekend and I’m hooked. I’m also wondering why I hadn’t watched it sooner!
Now I’m not walking to work and there are no suitable places in Headingley to eat food outside, I’m struggling with a major lack of fresh air occupying my lungs through the week. That’s why I’m making an extra effort on a weekend to get out, even if it is just for an hour. Last weekend, Chris and I went out to Marsden for a little walk along the canal and this weekend we went to the Meanwood Valley Trail. It was a lovely walk along a little river and past waterfalls. There was even still some green leaves left on the trees…
Before walking around the city for Light Night, Chris and I went for dinner and Comptoir and had a little date night. I’ve tried the food out here at the Manchester branch and the new Leeds location is just as good. I usually go for a mezze but this time I went for a flatbread with grilled halloumi cheese. It also had something else on but I can’t remember what it was. All I know is that it was mighty delicious and I don’t care how rubbish it made me feel, I loved every bite of it.
What have you all been up to this week?
