Welcome to a brand new week guys! Can anyone smell the bank holiday just around the corner? I know I can. Yes, I know it’s only Monday, but I’m already looking forward to the 3 day weekend ahead of us. Personally, I think we need more 3 day weekends in our lives. Like once every month or something. Until that happens though, it’s time to fill the week ahead full of fun and take a little look back on what I got up to last week…
Fortunately, the warm weather is still kind of here. Kind of. I took advantage of a warm Tuesday evening last week and bought some pitta bread and dips from the shop, took a blanket to the island on the canal in Leeds and enjoyed the evening sun. That is until it got too cold. It was nice while it lasted at least.
I’m ashamed to say that I don’t read half as much as I should to. Or half as much as I used to. I don’t know why, as I do like reading. I just can’t seem to concentrate on books as much as I used to. Maybe I’m just reading shit books or there are other things I would just rather do. Either way, I met up with Kate, Beverley, Charley, Sophie and Rihanna last week for a little book swap after work. The general idea being that if you do read a lot, books are expensive to keep buying. Therefore, why not gather a few of our favourite books together and do a little swap. It seemed to work well and now we’ve all got some new books to read as well as being able to enjoy an evening on one of the best rooftops in Leeds.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a good old night of drinking and chilling in the flat with my friends. In fact, many of my friends hadn’t even been round to my flat before. We got some drinks in, and too many snacks, played Ring of Fire and Cards Against Humanity. I mean, we did end up going out after but I felt like a pre-drinking student again and it was fun.
So, after a night out on Friday, I was more than ready for some sleep on Saturday. 14 hours of sleep to be precise. I had a mid afternoon nap on Saturday and then a good solid snooze through to Sunday morning. And it was glorious. It would have been more glorious if I didn’t get woken up by a group of people playing drums in Leeds Dock at 9.30am but still, I feel so much better for some good sleep.
I say I got my hair cut, it’s not a dramatic change or anything, just a few inches shorter. Which makes it so much easier to do anything with, I swear. I haven’t had it cut since April so it was a much needed hair cut and now I feel all fresh!
What have you all been up to this week? Let me know in the comments below!
